This last weekend I rolled out a new redesign of my comic's site. It is now a little more of a dynamic page, and now it has an RSS feed and members can comment on the comics directly instead of in the forums. My favorite part is that I can now schedule comics to roll out on a specific date automatically instead of having to upload them on the date they show up. That also means that I have to actually make some a few days in advance.. but if I ever do actually do that it will be a nice feature.

There are also a few new sections including private messaging between members, and a downloads area where I have already added a few Angry Bunny wallpapers that people can use for their computer desktop if they want.

So I knew that there where changes at the airport, and changes with the airlines. What I didn't realize was what all the changes would be.

Keep in mind I am talking about a smaller regional airport. So they still have the stupid no fluids through the security check point. Then they are charging $15 for the airline, that you are already paying an inflated fee to, to carry you luggage. That way they can make extra money in the empty cargo areas jetting packages around for mail services.

This of course means everybody and their brother now brings their bags to the gate to curb check them. And where do they put those bags? In the same area they are charging to put your checked bag. Say What? Yeah, that's right. So now instead of the 10 or 11 additional bags they used to stow at the terminal, now they are stowing one for 90% of the passengers. Not really sure how that is saving the airlines a dime doing this. In fact they are probably losing money because now everyone has one of the heaver, reinforced rolling bags that they are checking instead of the lighter suitcases that they used to check at the main ticket counter. So now it just takes longer to board and deplane because of all the idiots waiting around for their curb checked bag to get taken care of or returned.

So lets talk about the flight. Used to be every flight received some sort of complementary drink. Nope. Not anymore. So they make you get rid of your water or coffee at the security check point, and they don't give you any on the flights. Great idea.

At least at the larger terminals they still have beverages for sale in the in the terminal area. We will see what kind of services I get in my 4 hours flight I am preparing to get on.

A professor friend sent me this web link to a book that he was reading; he noticed that my name was listed as an image contributor. Of course it is not the whole book but it is cool to see your name on the back of a book knowing that your work is being used and they gave you credit for your work.

So, I searched books.google.com for my name and was surprised to see that I show up in two other publications too.
