Sometimes a cover band can play a song exactly the same as the original artist. And sometimes they can take a song to a new level that words just cannot explain. And sometimes it straddles that fine line between comedy and great music. This would be one of those cases. Enjoy....
The latest and greatest horror movie on the planet.. Okay so maybe it's just a humorous video:
This is one of those videos that is supposed to be a parody and they pull it off well. So well that it actually probably looks like many real videos like this that are actually out there.
In the early days of MTV there were certain unknown artists that made it big because of their videos. Others kind of killed their popularity when people saw what they looked like. This video from Adam Ant (or Adam and the Ants depending on when and where they were) actually hurt his image. It made him jump from Euro Punk to.. well, I am not sure what to call it. Sit back and enjoy the song anyway.
Keeping with the 80's music theme. Here is a video that is sure to be a viral video on the web; if it isn't already. This is an actual video of recreation time in a Philippine prison. Something that you will probably never see in a US jail, or most other countries for that matter.
Okay; Now for the song that shook up the world when it's video came out. Well, okay, not as much as Boy George. Confused yet? Okay, let me try and make some sense. Here is the international version of the video for Frankie Goes to Hollywood song "Relax." It is kind of a tame video with suggestions of homosexuality:
Another song from the X-Files series; I cannot find the original Soul Coughing video, so this one will have to do.
Oh and enter the caption contest! Only three more days!
One of my favorite songs to show up in the X-files; and various other projects since then:
This one has it all... dwarfs, saxophones, guitar solos, kids, swinging lights, motor cycles, people walking down long hallways, tight clothes, big hair, bad hair, pointless visuals, water, shadows, fire jugglers, acrobats, a rock quarry, and a person singing to a mirror. I guess the director figured that if all the major videos of the time had one of these elements in it; then putting them all in one video would make it the best ever!
It is a good song for those of you who remember Quarterflash.
Remember Kim Wilde? No? I bet you have heard this song, or at least the chorus of the song. Embrace your 80's heritage. *laughter*
EDITED: As mentioned by A to the MEEEEEE here is the cover remake by "The Muffs."
